Mayfair’s Stanhope Gate
Westminster has OK-ed plans to convert a building on Mayfair’s Stanhope Gate into six apartments. The submitted proposals, amalgamating various previous applications, provide for a set of resi units ranging in size from around 150 to 220 sq m.
They detail various changes to the unlisted mid-terrace property – originally a grand townhouse but until relatively recently used solely for office purposes – including a new basement and roof extensions, along with some other alterations.
According to the council’s report, planners decided the loss of office space would be acceptable, given that most of Stanhope Gate is now in resi use (neighbours include the super-prime Clivedale and Dorchester Collection tie-up Mayfair Park Residences).
The planning documents list the developer as Stanhope Property Ltd, with Savills in the planning consultant role and Morpheus & Co. as architects.
